Frequently Asked Questions about Water Bores
Q: What is a garden water bore? A: A garden water bore delivers water from the earth's natural water reserve, through the use of a pump, to your garden's irrigation system.
Q: Why should I get a water bore?
A: Having a water bore provides both you and your garden with a number of benefits:
- By using the earth's ground water supply you are helping save our precious drinking water
- By installing and using a water bore it means no more paying for excess water usage
- Save money every year on water usage
- Bore water contains a number of healthy minerals that naturally provide your garden with the food it needs to thrive. This is something your scheme water can't do
- Increases your property value
Q: How is a water bore installed? A: In order to install a water bore we first need to drill the bore hole. We use our rotary mud drilling rig to do this and on average the process takes a few hours. Once the hole has been drilled we then install what is called the casing. This is the PVC pipe work which houses the submersible pump and discharge. We first install a slotted screen which allows water to flow through into the pump. We then install the 100mm PVC pipes. Once the casing is installed we drop the pump and motor down into the water and install the discharge which is what delivers the water to your reticulation. We lastly connect the discharge to your reticulation and complete the electrical hookup of the motor. Water will now be delivered from the bore to your irrigation system.
Q: I am worried that when the water bore is finished it will look ugly and make my garden look untidy A: Thankfully today that's not a problem. In the past there used to be wells that had to be installed and could really take away a lot of the beauty from your home and garden but that's no longer the case. We install submersible pumps which sit below ground which means they cannot be seen. As for the water bore itself it is covered by a small valve box which can either sit flush with the ground for easy access or can be installed below ground level and then covered by lawn or paving.
Q: What is the warranty on the water bores installed by Aqua Attack Drilling? A: We give all our clients a 2 year warranty on the pump and a 10 year warranty on the workmanship of the bore. If there are any problems with either we will replace it.
